Shining Force III Scenario 3 Translation - Chapter 1

Section 5) Goriate of the Wind ~ Translated by Lineage

Goriate :
Well, well. The time is up. May I have your answer now?

Mageron :
What should we do? General Steel, if we receive any more attacks
from that flying weapon, then not even this strong Destonia castle
will last anymore.

Steel :
...Well, that's why... if you surrender, I will be held responsible...

Goriate :
I know you would dearly love to break even with us by sticking swords.
Heheh, however, you can't, as your opponent is in the air.

Mageron :
General Steel, you are the commander responsible for the defence of the
castle... Although I will succeed my father as an Emperor, what good will
happen to me as a prince at the present time?

Steel :
So, it's your plan to flee? Even though you are fully aware that by
submitting Destonia Castle is throwing away the majesty of the Empire?

Goriate :
I can no longer behold the lovesight of responsibilities. If you care
for your lives, give up.

Mageron :
(Please do something, Steel. It was you father entrusted
the castle to.)

Steel :
(What is Bresby doing now?! We haven't heard from him since he departed
to seek assistance. If only Bresby was back...)

Bresby :
......

Voice :
Here...

Julian :
!

Bresby :
Is the girl with that voice important to you? Why did you stop entering?

Girl :
Think about your military strength. While High Priest Goriate's attention is diverted, try to get to the staff as close as possible.

Julian :
......

Jane :
I'm Jane... from Remotest...

Gracia :
Remotest? It's known as the outskirt of the continent...that place?
Jane...who are you? You are a person of Bulzome.. No, that's wrong...
I can feel both Positive and Negative power from you...

Jane :
I...I...

Goriate :
Now! I'd like to hear the decision right now!

Bresby :
Right now, saving the castle is more important than paying attention
to Jane!

Gracia :
But, she... oh, she's gone. As you said. Let's concentrate on battling
the Bulzome for now, Sir Bresby.

Bresby :
Are you absolutely sure you have a plan to defeat Walcuray, Sir Gracia?

Gracia :
I will use the magic of the Staff of Besem against that staff. Then, the
staff will be shortcircuited by having both Positive and Negative power.
The staff will lose its control for awhile!

Bresby :
I understand. Julian, guide Sir Gracia to the staff and stop Walcuray.

Gracia :
However, it's not very long time for Walcuray to lose control. We must
defeat them in the meanwhile.

(During the battle)

Goriate :
Huh? they...must be...Julian Battallion.

Steel :
It must be Bresby, Prince! I guess the assistance arrived on time!

Mageron :
I TELL YOU, BRESBY... I LEAVE IT UP TO YOU. PLEASE DRIVE THEM AWAY!

Goriate :
Heheh. Since Gracia is accompanying Julian Battalion, it would be
better for you, eh?

Steel :
The Child god of Elbesem, Gracia...

Goriate :
However, I won't let Imperials have it their way. I will prove it with
myself and Walcuray...Behold!

Goriate :
So, you are here, Julian Battalion. If the Prince depends on you,
I will cut off such expectation. Come Gracia. I will be your match.

(Used Shining on the staff with Negative Power)

Bresby :
We did it! It's a success! Now... we can fight with them without
getting attacked by Walcuray, Julian!

Goriate :
Stupid Walcuray... What did you do to the staff, Gracia?
Ugh..no... It doesn't respond. In that case, I'll defeat you
first and fix the staff later. Come!

(4 turns are over thereafter)

Goriate :
Ah! It seems the light has returned to the staff. Now
Walcuray is functional again! Then it's settled. Gracia,
prepare for your worst!

(After the battle)

(If Shining is used on the staff with Negative Power)

Goriate :
...After losing control of Walcuray, and by being used in the
distraction, this is my defeat.

Kate :
Ah, the staff has been disappeared in the blaze.

Donhort :
After having the staff destroyed, Walcuray which has lost control has
began to move... what's happening?

Jane :
Walcuray has been relieved of control and is returning back to Bulzome's
shrine.

Goriate :
Jane, why are you...

Jane :
I'm sorry, High Priest Goriate... I couldn't stand using Walcuray for
the invasion.

Goriate :
Is that so. You guided Julian Battalion here.

Jane :
However, I won't give in High Priest Goriate's life as well!

Donhort :
Wait, lady. What are you going to do with that man?

Jane :
...I have cooperated with you. I beg you, please let go of the High Priest!

Bresby :
What she's saying is true. What would you do, Julian?

YES

Jane :
Thank you...Julian...

NO

Jane :
If that's so... I'll take the High Priest by force, Julian.

Kate :
Jane is gone...

Mageron :
Too bad they are gone...

Steel :
That Flying Weapon called Walcuray... We would have been victorious
without that thing.

Mageron :
You have returned with the assistance. You certainly are my advisor.
My abducted father isn't found yet...and the state of affairs within the
Empire is in confusion. If our castle was taken over by the Bulzome at
such dire moments...

Bresby :
You have kept your patience well while I escaped the capital
until I came with the assistance. Well done, Prince!

Mageron :
It's because I have entrusted my deepest trust within you...
You did not let me down and brought us a strong assistance. Moreover,
the boy with strange solutions...

Bresby :
He is the leader of Elbesem, Gracia. He has researched on the ancient
weapon, Walcuray and participated in the rescue willingly.

(If Shining was used on the staff with Negative Power)

Mageron :
Oh, I have heard the leader of Elbesem possesses abilities
that far surpass those of normal human abilities. Is that
why he was able to defeat them?

Bresby :
It's not only him, but also other members of Julian Battalion as well.
They have all confidently decided to participate in the rescue of
the Empire. They certainly are extremely powerful warriors!

Mageron :
Thanks to your assistance, Destonia castle is preserved safely...
I pay you sincerest respect for the rescue.

Steel :
Easily impressed...as always...

Mageron :
Me?... General Steel?

Steel :
Julian Battalion which Bresby brought is compromised of horse bony
freaks and rubbish ruffians who are mere thieves active in the night.

Bresby :
General Steel! Your words... they are extremely rude towards the
people who came here to rescue the capital. Apologize!

Steel :
Apologize? I, Steel? Who are you telling to apologize, Bresby?!
Are you saying I should apologize to Donhort who raved madly along
with Tybalt of the Republic?

(If Edmund has joined the force)

Steel :
Or, are you saying I should apologize to General Edmund, the
old foe of the Empire, who also sided with the Republicans
and jumped back and forth between the Imperials?

Steel :
...Are you meddling with the Emperor's policy? So, you are the leader
of Elbesem, Sir Gracia? Alright, we'll yield 100 steps backward and
allow you in since you have unique rank. However, that's it! The
source of aristocracy known as Destonia castle... is not a place for
a mere mercenary to enter.

Mageron :
Are you still using the rank system to decide whom to receive the
credit? Even to the leader of the army ultimately responsible for
the achievement, Steel?

Steel :
Since I'm in charge of Destonia castle per the Emperor's request,
when a crisis that is against the Emperor's will occurs, I will use my
own judgement. Julian Battalion certainly is responsible for the
contribution in defeating the Bulzome. But that's it! No more!

Bresby :
Only responsible for the contribution, Steel? Why don't you think
they are the ones that actually saved the capital?

Steel :
Don't underestimate the Imperial defence army, please. We were only
waiting for the right timing to strike. The chance to strike the
High Priest Goriate.

(When Shining is used on the staff with Negative power.)

Kate :
How could... Starting from Sir Gracia, it's because of
Julian Battalion's bravery that defeated Goriate.

(When Shining is not used on the staff with Negative Power.)

Kate :
How could... Because Julian Battalion marched on, Destonia
castle was saved...

Steel :
If you are badly in need of credits, Julian Battalion, you can share
the credit with Steel army fifty-fifty for defeating the Bulzome.

Donhort :
WHAT?!

Steel :
Oh..? You don't want to pick up a fight against Steel's
main army which is at its full strength, do you?

YES

Gracia : Let's stop this meaningless fight. If we knew we were
here for this, then we wouldn't have come in the first place!

NO

Gracia : Anyone will be enraged after receiving such treatment.
However, there is no solution by fighting. So your choice
is correct.

Bresby :
Sir Gracia, everyone from Julian Battalion... I'm sorry for such
turn of the situation.

Donhort :
It's not your fault, Sir Bresby. I already knew this kind of filthy incident
would happen as long as Imperial class structure remains
which I detest the most.

Gracia :
For now, the crisis is over at Destonia. Since our task here is over,
should we go... to Saraband?

Mageron :
Is that so? I guess they should join with the Medion Battalion. If they
take the Flagship and assist them, as soon as my father is rescued...

Steel :
Prince! Are you thinking of handing over the Flagship to them?!

Mageron :
Are you against my opinion, Steel...? Why... Why does everyone oppose
my decisions...?

Steel :
It's not the matter of opposing you, Prince. I am only giving you
the most suitable advice as a general of the Destonia Capital Defence Army.
The entire Imperial army is in the pursuit of the Emperor's whereabouts.
We haven't received any notification of discovery of the Emperor. What
if such notifications arrive?

Mageron :
Of course we'll have to escort him back here immediately no matter what...!

Steel :
However, if we give out the Flagship, we do not have any ships left here
to depart to escort him back here.

Mageron :
Of course, we can't escort him in that case...

Steel :
It's regrettable, but please understand why we can't send over the Flagship.

Mageron :
I'm sorry, but I can't hand over the fleet. However, I won't forget
Julian Battalion's bravery nontheless.

Bresby :
Wait. What about the Julian Battalion... are you saying they should be
returning like this...?

Steel :
"Julian Battalion..."? Bresby? My bad expression, sorry. I should
have said "Julian Battalion and..."

Bresby :
"Julian Battalion AND..."?

Steel :
Yes, Bresby. you are included.

Bresby :
What do you mean by that... Steel, are you actually... me...?

Steel :
Yes, I was doubting your intent. Ever since you have brought out
this bunch of rogue thieves, you are regarded as a dangerous figure
who have disgraced the Empire's dignity.

Bresby :
After I have brought out Destonia rescuing force and saved Destonia,
I am a DANGEROUS FIGURE?! You Steel... YOU...!

Steel :
After Emperor Domaric has returned, let's request the Emperor to
call a trial against Bresby, shall we, Prince Mageron?

Mageron :
Just as you think, General Steel. What you are saying must be true.

(When Isabella has joined the force)

Steel :
It seems the Princess is with the Julian Battalion. Princess
Isabella has participated too. What should we do with her?

Mageron :
If Bresby deserves a punishment, Isabella should serve the
same. Do as you like.

Steel :
As you heard, Bresby. You have been resigned as the advisor for the
Prince. Stay with Julian Battalion for now, and wait for the
Emperor's return.

Kate :
...Sir Bresby...

Bresby :
You...Steel...
tricked...me...

(Chapter Summary)
"Due to Prince Medion's request, the Julian Battalion started
out on a journey. After successfully arriving in the Imperial capital,
and after a meeting with the Priest Scholar, they headed to Destonia
Castle which was on the verge of invasion."

"It was the Julian Battalion's bravery that defeated Bulzome
High Priest Goriate who was driving a flying weapon called Walcuray
and rescued Prince Mageron and his associates who were on the
verge of surrendering."

"However, Mageron and Steel had forgotten the gratitude for
national salvation, and driven away Julian Battalion from Destonia
castle. On top of that, they were plotting to send out a pursuit
army."
